Bud Billiken Parade 2013
On August 10th, the Bernie Mac Foundation participated in the 84th Annual Bud Billiken Parade to help launch the "Who Ya Wit?" campaign.
Hundreds of thousands of people celebrated a Chicago tradition on the city's South Side Saturday. The parade began at 10 a.m. The parade route went south on King Drive from 39th Street to 55th Street in Washington Park. Chicago Cubs Chairman, Tom Ricketts, served as honorary marshal.
Since 1929, the Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic has been held on the second Saturday of August in Chicago, Illinois. The parade has been an annual tradition in Chicago. The Bud Billiken Parade is in celebration of Chicago's back-to-school time and the end of the summer break. The focus of the parade is on the betterment of Chicago youth. The parade features celebrities, politicians, businessmen, civic organizations and youth. The parade concludes in Washington Park where the picnic will take place.
